Just passing on a little safety info to you all

Hey everyone, hope you all are doing well. Reason for this post is quite simple actually. I am unsure if any of you have heard of the recent problems with hotmail accounts, but I was informed by a friend of mine that there has been a concern regarding hotmail and a weakness which to my knowledge as of yet hasn't been repaired which enables people to hack your hotmail account. Those of you who use hotmail for your msn messenger might be wise to change temporarily for your own safety as well as the safety of those on your contact list because if your msn is taken over, it basically invites the person who gains access to it to all your contacts. If I hear of any changes on this issue, I will keep you informed. :)

This is why having a bank pin on your account is crucial. There are viruses which have been on the ramage lately where when someone on your contact list is infected with it, when they go to message you ( or anyone else on their list ) instantly posts a link into the convo. Many people have fallen for that and click the link, which results in them becoming infected with the same virus, and jeopardizing all those on their list. One thing I have picked up lately which is a very good safety tip is when logging into your rs account ( or any other account or game ) is to click back and forth between your account name and password and doing one letter in each. For example, let's say my pass was d3k5b9x0g1vR ( which it isn't ) then when entering my account name and pass it would look like this Fdu3skib9oxn0cga1nvdRy. Keyloggers record keystrokes, so by alternating back and forth between your password and your actual name, it would confuse the person and make it harder for them to determine your pass. It would be crucial though to NOT hit enter or shift and enter to skip back and forth between the account name and pass, but use the mouse instead, as that cannot be recorded by a keylogger whereas enter or shift and enter can as they are both keys on the keyboard.

That's often 'overkill' and not really any more secure unless you decide to mix it up a lot more than just alternate. Still, keep your machine secure and don't download or accept files and you'll be fine. Don't click any dodgy links either. Simple.

I was informed it was through emotes. I have turned off all emotes from everyone. There is an emote out there that is a virus.
I also NEVER accept files from anyone.
